Dakota Johnson and Matthew Hitt have reportedly split and her sudden fame from the success of "Fifty Shades of Grey" was cited as the main reason.
A new report from Us Weekly claimed that Dakota Johnson and Matthew Hitt have parted ways in December last week.
"Sometime over the holidays, they broke up," the source told the magazine. "Her life was getting too crazy and it wasn't something that he wanted to be a part of."
However, the source quickly added that the two remained friends, insisting that "it wasn't a bad break."
According to the magazine, the split was probably for the best considering that Dakota Johnson's packed schedule just doesn't leave enough room for a stable relationship. The article also claimed that the daughter of Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith is "casually seeing a few people."
If fame was cited as the reason for the split between Dakota Johnson and Matthew Hitt, then he wasn't alone for being paranoid about becoming a household name all of a sudden.
In an interview with Vogue magazine, Dakota Johnson said that she loves London because it offers her a semblance of normalcy.
"My most favorite thing about London is that nobody recognizes me. It's really . . . cool," she said.
On being named the leading star of "Fifty Shades of Grey," Dakota Johnson said: "I think about my dwindling anonymity and that's really scary because a very large part of me would be perfectly happy living on a ranch in Colorado and having babies and chickens and horses-which I will do anyway."
After all the hoopla on "Fifty Shades of Grey" will die down, Dakota Johnson said she's going to take a year off. "I want to hang out with my friends. I want to hang out with my family-well, I sometimes want to hang out with my family!" she said.
