Good news "Destiny" players! Following the massive 1.1.1 update, Bungie is set to release new updates and content slated to come next month.
"Destiny" developer, Bungie, recently released the huge 1.1.1 update and revealed the upcoming mobile vault update to the Destiny Companion app, but that's not all, In its weekly update today (Feb. 27), Bungie revealed a new type of Crucible game mode coming March 3.
According to GameRant, Bungie is not waiting until the release of "House of Wolves" which is still a couple months away to give Destiny players new updates and content. Bungie announced they are bringing a new playlist to the game's PVP arena, thehe Crucible. The new playlist, dubbed Inferno, will commence with a modified version of the control mode that does not feature radar on the HUD, uncomplicated scoring, faster objective capture as well as less heavy ammo. Basically, Inferno Control is a hardcore version of Control.
According to IGN, senior designer, Leif Johansen, is one player in Bungie's team that is always working hard to give players new ways to clash with other Guardians for control of the battle.
Bungie noted that the new mode will require stronger teamwork and better "corner checking" by Guardians to secure a win against enemies. Talking about their newest creation, Inferno playlists, Leif said that Inferno is a game mode coming to the "Crucible" on March 3.
He added that Bungie is starting with Inferno Control, a PvP experience that revolves around basic gunplay and basically is all about achieving more with less. In addition, PvP modes should give players the chance to flex new gameplay muscles, they didn't know they had.
Johansen also said that they are removing the Tracker that warns players of nearby opponents. This is done with intention to encourage players to rely more on certain skills such as map knowledge, teamwork, successfully flanking opponents, gppd positioning, using jumps to set up ambushes, using friendly nameplate UI as clues toward enemy position and catching audio cues such as footsteps.
Check out some of the changes that will make that a reality.
No Tracker
Players have no "radar" in the top left corner of their HUD
Super Good Advice: Please, please check your corners, Guardians
Simplified Scoring
Bungie has removed many scoring events
The mode is basically more about getting kills and playing the bottom line objective
Fast objective capture
Without the Tracker, players are much more vulnerable when interacting with objectives because it gives away their position
Speeding up capture time keeps the risk and reward for trying to capture an objective fairer
Less Heavy Ammo
There's not more than one set of Heavy crates per match and dead players don't drop purple bricks
With no Tracker, it's much easier to flank an aggressive opponent that's pushing for kills because they have Heavy
Players can be expected to play more conservatively with Heavy ammo in order to try and get more bang for buck out of it.
Bungie said that some of its designers will be available tomorrow, Feb. 28 on the bungie.net forums to talk to interested players about the forthcoming changes.
