Leonard Nimoy, who played the iconic Captain Spock in "Star Trek" died at 83 years old, but not before posting a final meaningful message on his Twitter. Meanwhile, Zachary Quinto, paid tribute to his predecessor.
On Feb. 22, Leonard Nimoy wrote on his Twitter: "A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP."
LLAP refers to the signature line by Spock, "Love Live and Prosper."
The post has been retweeted 228,481 times, and "favorited" 150,892 times.
The next post on his account simply said, "Leonard Nimoy 1931-2015."
Zachary Quinto, 37, who played Spock in JJ Abrams' reboot, took to Instagram on Friday morning to write a tribute to Leonard Nimoy: "my heart is broken. i love you profoundly my dear friend. and i will miss you everyday. may flights of angels sing thee to thy rest."
Long-time friend William Shatner, who played Captain Kirk, tweeted: "I loved him like a brother. We will all miss his humor, his talent, and his capacity to love."
Even POTUS took time out to pay tribute to "Star Trek actor Leonard Nimoy after his death was announced. A tweet by the White House said: "Long before being nerdy was cool, there was Leonard Nimoy." -President Obama #RIPLeonardNimoy #LLAP."
Sir Patrick Stewart, who also played the captain in "Star Trek: The Next Generation" tweeted: "It is with sadness that I heard of Leonard Nimoy's death. I was lucky to spend many happy, inspiring hours with him. He won't be forgotten."
"Star Trek" actor Leonard Nimoy died inside his Bel Air, Los Angeles mansion on Friday after a long-drawn battle against lung disease. According to Daily Mail, the actor suffered from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or COPD. He was rushed to the UCLA Medical Center on Feb. 19 after an emergency call to 911.
