Just like what she promised, Kelly Osbourne quit "Fashion Police" purportedly because of co-host Guiliana Rancic's racist comments to her friend, Zendaya.

E! Entertainment said in a statement:

"Kelly Osbourne is departing E!s Fashion Police to pursue other opportunities, and we would like to thank her for her many contributions to the series over the past five years, during which time the show became a hit with viewers. Fashion Police will return, as scheduled, on Monday, March 30, at 9 p.m. and no decisions have been made on her replacement."

Melissa Rivers, the daughter of the late Joan Rivers and the executive producer of "Fashion Police," also issued a statement which reads:

"Kelly Osbourne is a friend and has been a wonderful part of the Fashion Police family. I will miss her terribly and wish her the very best in all of her future endeavors. As my mother always said, the show must go on and I plan to continue in the same spirit."

TMZ hinted that there's a bigger story to Kelly Osbourne quitting "Fashion Police."

"Multiple sources connected with the show tell us ... producers and Kelly were at odds even before the Giuliana Rancic showdown, where Kelly threatened to quit unless Giuliana apologized over her comments about Zendaya on the red carpet at the Oscars," it said.

According to the gossip news site, the conflict began on the first shooting day without Joan Rivers.

"Kelly was unhappy with the way the show was being produced. Producers, we're told, were 'up to here' with Kelly so the handwriting was on the wall," TMZ added.

The TMZ report does seemingly explain Kelly Osbourne's departure from "Fashion Police" since the daughter of Ozzy Osbourne, lead vocalist of Black Sabbath, already accepted Guiliana Rancic's apology.

She tweeted: "It takes a strong women (sic) to apologize & makes a forgiving women even stronger! #ThisTooShallPass."
