Now that Toyota is facing competition, the company is confident about keeping the lead in terms of the midsize pick-up sector with the redesigned 2106 Toyota Tacoma powered by 4- and 6-cylinder engines.
The 4-cylinder engine is available with 6-speed automatic transmission only while the other option in new Atkinson-cycle, 3.5-liter V-6 nets offers a choice between auto or manual providing operators with a stick-shift option. The new V-6 has the D4-S technology allowing the switch from port injection under low engine loads and direct injection systems at higher rpms.
