Ronda Rousey fought with Cat Zingano last Saturday for the 184 Mixed Martial Arts bantamweight title, and the challenger didn't stand a chance.
According to usnews.com, Ronda Rousey was able defend her 135-pound title at UFC 184. Rousey put a stop to Cat Zingano's dreams of becoming a champion with an acrobatic armbar in less than a minute - 14 seconds to be exact.
"There are very few situations when a fight goes 14 seconds and the crowd is cheering and going crazy, looking at each other with their mouths open -- and everybody knows how awesome Ronda is, but everybody was looking at each other with their mouths open because she was fighting Cat Zingano and this was going to be a tough-ass fight," Dana White, UFC president said.
Espn.go.com noted that Ronda Rousey's recent fight with Cat Zingano is her fastest as she defended her UFC title for the fifth time.
Reportedly, Rousey caught Zingano midair after Zingano rushed towards her on the opening bell. Rousey was able to flip Zingano on her back by using her judo skills.
"I made that up on the fly, to be honest," Rousey said.
"But it was kind of funny: We were going toward the ground, and I kind of reverted back to judo mode and was thinking, 'Don't touch your back. It's a point.' That's where the acrobatic thing came from, was thinking about not touching your back in judo," she added.
Ronda Rousey's fight with Cat Zingano set a new record for fastest fight in UFC.
For now, the MMA Bantamweight star is still interested in meeting Gina Carano in the cage.
According to fightline.com, she's willing to provide a catchweight bout for the former "Strikeforce" fighter, considered to be the pioneer in bringing women's fighting to the mainstream.
"The only one I'll make an exception for is Gina Carano because she's such a pioneer in the sport," Ronda Rousey said.
