Showtime's hit series "Homeland" is set for an exciting return for Season 5 this coming 2015. Spoilers claim that the upcoming episodes will be even more explosive season compared to Season 4 which was relatively subdued. Although the "Homeland" Season 4 finale earned criticism in social media, Showtime president David Nevins said the espionage political thriller ended the way it was supposed to.
Fans were shocked to see Carrie, distraught at such a low point in her life.
"I'm a recent mom myself and there are very few representations of motherhood that are at all controversial on television. I don't think there's any greater of a taboo than an unloving mother," Claire Danes revealed to Mashable.
Speaking to Vanity Fair, Nevins revealed that "Homeland" Season 5 will have a different storyline.
"We’re not necessarily going to stay [with addressing] U.S. relations in the Muslim world," he hinted.
According to "Homeland" season 5 spoilers, the story will also jump ahead two and a half years where Carrie is no longer an intelligence agent.
"The story will be set in Germany, in Berlin. We have our fingers crossed we'll shoot in Berlin [in that time Carrie will] be trying to come to terms with her life in the Central Intelligence Agency [and] dealing with what she felt at the very end of season four, which is disillusionment and disdain about it. So she'll actually be out of the agency."
Apart from the dramatic changes in Carrie's personal and professional life, showrunners declined to reveal further spoilers and any major plot twists to in the upcoming season.
At the recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, "Homeland" co-creator Alex Ganza, revealed that there was a "tremendous" amount of debate in the writers room on whether Quinn and Carrie should end up together.
"Homeland" Season 5 is set to shoot come May 2015 and will air later this year. Watch out for more spoilers ahead of the premiere episode.
