Although “Frozen” became a part of our lives in 2013, the movie and the soundtrack from the film has remained a part of our lives.
Now, fans of Queen Elsa and the rest of the cast can build a snowman once again as Disney has officially announced plans to produce a sequel to “Frozen 2,” according to Variety.
The company reportedly revealed their plans during the Walt Disney Co’s annual shareholders meeting on Thursday from San Francisco. Directors of “Frozen,” Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, are reportedly developing “Frozen 2” with producer Peter Del Vecho for Walt Disney Animation Studios.
“We enjoyed making ‘Frozen Fever’ so much and being back in that world with those characters,” stated John Lasseter, chief creative officer of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios, according to ABC News.
He added, “[Directors] Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck have come up with a great idea for a sequel and you will be hearing a lot more about it and we’re taking you back to Arendelle. We are so excited about that.”
A released date and production details for “Frozen 2” have reportedly yet to be announced.
Rumors of a sequel had been circulating long before the recent announcement. It doesn’t come as a surprise as “Frozen” reportedly generated nearly $1.3 billion at the box office and broke sales records on home video and at Disney’s stores.
Social media users have already begun to get excited about the sequel to the Disney hit.
“Wait till i tell my kids about #Frozen 2 They better make it fast cause they will ask me everyday when we r going to see it,” wrote Twitter user Ari.
Fellow Twitter user Seth Abner simply wrote, “Frozen 2 confirmed. Day made.”
