Zero 7 will be releasing a new record entitled E.P.3 in April. The record features musical guests Danny Pratt from Australia, Only Girl from London and José González.
The duo, made up of Henry Binns and Sam Hardaker talked about the upcoming material from their new release.
"Late last year we finished a couple of stray songs we'd been working on and have been trying to find a suitable home for them since," the ambient music makers declared.
"As they didn't really fit with much else we were doing at the time, they were put aside while we thought about what to do with them.... To us, they seemed to share something with the Mark Hollis cover we did a while ago so we've buddied them up and thrown in a little instrumental for good measure and come up with the imaginatively entitled it 'E.P.3'. Hope you enjoy."
The 12" is expected to come out on March 31 and the download version will be up for grabs starting April 13 on Make Records via Kobalt Label Services.
The British musical duo have also confirmed reports that they will be dropping their first studio effort in five years this fall. The album will be a follow-up to their 2009 release, "Yeah Ghost."
"We are currently working on new tracks and will let you know about release plans as soon as we have them," the musicians stated, according to a report by Stereo Board. "There will definitely be more to come in the summer!"
Zero 7 have built their name through their signature chilled out tunes. The pair began making music together after having met each other at London's RAK Record Studio.
Among the guests on the Zero 7's new release is Swedish singer-songwriter José González. The guitarist sang to the freshly unveiled tune "Last Light." He also lent his ethereal vocals to Binns and Hardaker's 2006's record, "The Garden."
