The latest rumors and spoilers for "Star Wars Episode 7" alleged that J.J. Abrams won't direct the next installment in the trilogy, as well as the stand-alone film. In a related development, an alleged description for the much-awaited IMAX scene trailer was leaked online.

According to Latino Review, Rian Johnson was tapped to write and direct the 'Star Wars Episode 8,' which is scheduled to be released on May 26, 2017.

Although relatively unknown, Rian Johnson has a string of impressive credits under his name, including "Looper," "The Brothers Bloom" and "Brick." He also directed the "Ozymandias" episode of "Breaking Bad."

J.J. Abrams will reportedly be the executive producer of "Star Wars Episode 8."

However, new "Star Wars Episode 7" rumors and spoilers claimed that JJ Abrams will be back for "Star Wars Episode 9," which will come out in 2019.

"We can only report it as a rumor this far out, but those at Disney who have seen footage from 'The Force Awakens' are very happy with what Abrams has delivered. J.J. himself has been vocal about how crazy the process has been, but has given equal time to his love of the series," Latino Review added.

Meanwhile, Making Star Wars released the reported leaked description for the IMAX sequence.

Part of the description reads, "The Falcon is chased by TIE Fighters and we apparently move by some familiar landmarks in the film's one-sun desert setting. This is the big chase and action sequence which dominates the film's first act."

"TIEs are in hot pursuit of the Falcon as it rockets away from the salvage station. Rey and BB-8 pilot the ship. Finn gets on the Falcon's turret. There's a lot of banter between the two and to an extent they don't seem to really know what they're doing. But most of all, Finn is rather inept."

Watch out for more "Star Wars Episode 7" news and rumors which will be published as they come along.
