The 2-hour finale of sibling rivalry, cat-fights and insanity definitely brought Empire's season 1 finale "Die But Once" well-deserved jaw-dropping ratings. The question now is, will it able to sustain momentum until season 2? Keep on reading to find out spoilers on what to expect on the upcoming episodes.

Moving forward from the success of season 1 is the much-awaited storyline for "Empire" Season 2. Spilling the beans, "Empire" creator Lee Daniels revealed spoilers that fans should look out for in the next season, such as the guest appearances of Oscar-winner Common and Oprah Winfrey.

Revealing bits of "Empire" season 2, executive producer Ilene Chaiken said that Cookie starts a new life as she tries to bring back her family together.

"I'm excited to continue to explore character, and to learn more about the past as we go into the future. I'm excited to see what Cookie does with her new status, especially in the absence of Lucious, however long he's absent. One of her main drives has been to bring her family back together, and she suffered a bit of a setback," Chaiken told Variety.

Chaiken, however, revealed that Lucious would play a pivotal role in "Empire" season 2 no matter where he is. Spoilers revealed that he might be out of prison sooner than the viewers think.

On Cookie and Jamals bone of contention during the finale, Chaiken teased:

"She lost her relationship with her most beloved son, and I want to see how Cookie resolves that or regains her relationship with Jamal. I want to see what Jamal does with his new position and his gangster status."

Chaiken said that the absence of Lucious will have a significant effect on Cookie's character.

"One of her main drives has been to bring her family back together, and she suffered a bit of a setback," she said.
