Charlize Theron and "fiancé" Sean Penn seem to deviate from the usual engagement symbol as the "Prometheus" actress was spotted without any ring on her left finger despite claims that she's already set to marry her boyfriend.

In a report by Nola Ojomu for Mail Online, the couple was spotted on a low-key date at Giorgio Baldi Restaurant, one of the most famous celebrity destinations, on Friday night.

"Charlize kept her face hidden but in the process revealed that her left hand was lacking the all-important engagement ring as the pair left the popular Los Angeles venue," the report said.

"Sean was in charge of the vehicle as he drove the pair home following their casual meal," it added.

The 39-year-old "Prometheus" actress and the 54-year-old "Into The Wild" actor started dating in December 2013.

The engagement rumors have become more apparent in entertainment headlines when Us Weekly reported on Jan. 23 that the ex-husband of Madonna is set to adopt Charlize Theron'sthree-year-old adopted son Jackson.

It was revealed that, in fact, the Oscar winner already filed for adoption.

"Sean always knew that to truly earn a place in Charlize's heart, connecting with Jackson was one of the most important parts," an unnamed close friend of Sean Penn told the magazine.

The lovebirds, who have been dating for more than a year now, reportedly got engaged during a trip to Paris last November. It was revealed as well that even if there has never been a wedding date identified, Sean Penn and Charlize Theron are "still planning on forever together."

"There is still talk of adopting again and giving Jackson a brother or a sister," the source added.

Despite the numerous engagement and adoption speculations and reports, the "Gunman" star seemed to insinuate that he knows nothing about it said E! Online.

"I have no idea," Charilize Theron's boyfriend Sean Penn shared in an interview with "Good Morning America".
