Vanessa Hudgens spilled some major details about her relationship with Zac Efron in a new interview for The New York Times. The "High School Musical" actress revealed that she had been "really mean" to her then boyfriend because she had been jealous of all the girls vying for her attention.
"I went through a phase when I was really mean because I was so fed up. Girls were running after him, and I was giving them death stares," she shared.
Vanessa Hudgens soon realized that being mad at then boyfriend Zac Efron would not solve the problem.
"Spread the love, be a good person, they support you, be nice," she said.
Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron dated for nearly four years before calling it off in 2010. It was said that the split was amicable and that there was no third party involved.
In 2014, Ok Magazine reported that Zac Efron still find it difficult to accept that he and Vanessa Hudgens are no longer a couple. Although sources claimed that the breakup was mutual, the actor's non-stop partying also took a toll on their relationship. The 27-year-old entered rehab after struggling with alcoholism and substance abuse.
Rumor has it, Zac Efron still could not get over the fact that he lost "the one." The actor was said to be willing to do anything for her and would love to make amends for his past mistakes.
"Zac still finds it hard accepting Vanessa is gone, to the point where he spends hours talking about her, looking at old pictures and generally moping about what they used to have together," the source said.
"This is why he jumps from one girl to another and no relationship has ever worked for him since they split."
The website reported that had Zac Efron would take Vanessa Hudgens "in a heartbeat" but she was just not interested anymore.
