As Prince Harry was greeted by the crowd who welcomed him at the Australian War memorial in Canberra, the princereportedly said to a fan who wanted to have a selfie with him, "I hate selfies," cited News.
"Seriously, you need to get out of it, I know you're young, but selfies are bad. Just take a normal photograph," said the prince.
Captain Harry Wales anded in Darwin for a month-long assignment with the Australian Defence Force. While in Darwin, Harry will be attached to the Perth and Sydney units and will train with the special forces patrol with Aboriginal soldiers.
On his arrival, the Britain's prince personally delivered a letter to Air Chief Marshal Binskin from the Queen, which reportedly states the importance of the relationship between the United Kingdom and Australia as the anniversary of the battle of Gallipoli approaches.
"I know that Captain Wales will benefit greatly from spending time with the Australian Diggers," the Queen wrote in a letter to the chief of the ADF, according to People Magazine. "I thank you for welcoming him into your ranks."
During his deployment in Australia, Prince Harry will still wear the uniform of the British Army but will fall under its command. Furthermore, ADF said that they will give Prince Harry an "authentic military experience." They added that the prince will spend time training on helicopter simulators in Perth.
"Captain Wales, when he is attached to the 1st Brigade, will work with various units... that will include detachments to NORFORCE, as well as to an aviation unit," said Brigadier Mick Ryan, the Commanding Officer of Darwin's 1st Brigade, according to the report of ABC.
"He may fly, but that will be under the discretion of the commanding officer of the aviation unit. We have world class combat aviators here, and they will be able to make decisions based on that," he added.
The prince will also learn how Australians care for wounded veterans that can help him on the "Walking With the Wounded" programme.
