Looks like UFC president Dana White is not very excited about Ronda Rousey having a movie career along with her reign as UFC champ.
After she tossed Triple H and Stephanie McMahon out of the ring at WrestleMania this past Sunday, fans have been speculating that she might have a WWE match in her future.
While there is no confirmation on whether or not "Rowdy" will step into the WWE ring again, Ronda is exploring the possibility of having a movie career in addition to her reign as the women's bantamweight champion.
However, UFC president Dana White actually had a few apprehensions about the idea.
Having already dealt with former light heavyweight champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson abandoning a fight against Rashad Evans citing his role in "The A-Team" movie, White's apprehensions about another fighter moonlighting as a Hollywood star was quite reasonable, FOXSports noted.
That said, UFC's most dominant female fighter has handled her movie career as well as UFC career with impeccable results. Ronda not only managed to film parts in two big movies released this year -- "Furious 7," which is the biggest movie in U.S. currently and the "Entourage" movie which is slated to release in June -- she also defended her title in February and is scheduled for another fight for UFC 190 in August.
Speaking to AM 570 Sports in Los Angeles on April 7, White said about Rousey, "Let me tell you what, the greatest athlete I've ever worked with No. 1.
He further added that she's hardworking, focused, amazing and incredible. White said she's one of the very few that can juggle all the things and make it all work.
Considering Rousey's fame and pay-per-view drawing power, it's no surprise that those in wrestling are trying to come up with ways to fit their new friend into the show. Wrestling uses certain celebs at certain times. Hall of Famers, including Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Rowdy Roody Piper, among others, make appearances during certain events (The Horsemen and DX at WrestleMania 31).
MMAFighting noted that many UFC stars, at the end of their careers, have attempted to make inroads in WWE, and are not given more than the time of day. UFC fighter Jon Jones reportedly had his management try to broker him a WWE appearance, however, nothing materialized.
Rousey, on the other hand, ended up being the most talked about subject with over 100,000 searches in the last few hours of Sunday night following her WrestleMania moment before a near sell-out crowd of 67,000 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
Rousey is set to begin filming her next movie titled "Mile 22" -- and that was after last week, when she not only made an appearance at WrestleMania but also attended the premier for "Furious 7" in Los Angeles. Following the completion of her movie, Rousey will reportedly then begin preparing for her bout against undefeated Brazilian mixed martial artist Bethe Correia in Brazil.
As dominant as she has been, White reportedly says there's no problem finding any number of fighters ready to face Ronda in the Octagon.
"The question becomes is there someone who can beat Ronda?" he said.
Correia, who is next in line, is another Brazilian who seems to be on everybody's list as a potential challenger who could face and defeat Rousey.
