It looks like Kurt Angle won't be returning to WWE once his contract with TNA Wrestling expires.

During a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Angle opened up about his highly publicized contract talks with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and TNA from late 2014.

Considering his vital contributions to the business and the WWE itself during the Altitude Era and beyond, Kurt Angle, without-a-doubt is a future WWE Hall of Fame wrestler.

After he quit the WWE, Angle proceeded to wrestle with TNA on Impact Wrestling, Inquisitr noted.

Angle recently re-signed with TNA for another year. He reportedly said that he'd retire after his concluding stint with Impact Wrestling unless, of course, it's for the greatest wrestling company in the world. There was a time last year when the WWE Universe thought it was getting Kurt Angle back.

Sports Illustrated talked to him about a lot of things, including a point in time where a return to WWE seemed realistic. Angle, however kept his options open for both WWE and TNA.

When Angle called WWE Chairman and chief executive Vince McMahon, he was told that Paul Levesque AKA "Triple H" was in control. Since he had good rapport with Paul, he didn't consider it a problem. However, McMahon reportedly claimed that WWE had enough talent.

Angle recalls that for Vince McMahon enough was never enough. Angle reportedly said he even canceled their meeting and didn't even go to see them, according to WrestlingInc.

"The WWE would have made more money this year if they would have signed me," Angle said bluntly.

Talking about WWE not wanting him, Angle said it blew his mind, adding that TNA not only stepped up, they even gave him everything he wanted including the dates, the money, and time off in the wake of him going to rehab in the past. He also added that Dixie Carter took care of him. He said he'd rather stick with the people who want to take care of him.

That said, he still did say he would have wanted to work with the likes of Daniel Bryan, Rusev and "The Beast" Brock Lesnar.
