The Jawbone UP3, after a slight delay, finally revealed a release date as the fitness tracker is set to arrive on store shelves this April 20.

The Jawbone UP3's release date has been delayed several months than its original target because of some manufacturing issues. Originally, the device is set to debut at the end of 2014. In Jawbone's blog post,it was explained that some of the parts were not able to meet the demand, some units weren’t up to scratch and weren’t as water-resistant as initially intended.

After re-evaluating few features, creators finally decided to scrap the original 10 meter water-proofing feature of the tracker. Jawbone creators, however, guarantee users a certain waterproof level such as taking a shower or washing one's hands, but the device can't be submerged in water.

Everyone may have expected a "waterproof" tracker, but now that the underwater feature has been scrapped, what makes Jawbone UP3 extra special now?

The Jawbone UP3's multi-sensor setup makes it stand out among the other trackers with some new sensors that give it a more functional and advanced tracking functions for fitness and health. The tracker has a tri-axis accelerometer, "bioimpedance" sensors that will analyze biometric data and a skin and ambient temperature sensors.

What's more interesting is that the Jawbone UP3 Advanced Multi-Sensor Tracker can also record the stages of your sleep: from REM sleep, light sleep and deep sleep. The tracker can also differentiate the user's workout activities.

As for the pre-orders, it went up a couple of months ago, and since then, customers now await for the Jawbone UP3's official release date. On its official statement, the early customers will be getting their pre-orders on time.

Meanwhile the Jawbone UP3 is still up for pre-order for only $179.99 on Jawbone's official website. If users plan to order today, they may expect you order delivered by UPS end of May.
