The Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge has been on sale in the US since April 10, and the South Korean company has reportedly already predicted record sales, according to The Verge.

Samsung's head of mobile marketing Lee Sang-chul has disclosed that the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge will get a higher record of sales compared to all the other models in the Galaxy series.

"We expect the sales volume to hit the highest record ever among the Galaxy series," said Lee Sang-chul.

Furthermore, according to Reuters, the company's head of mobile JK Shin told the press that they will not be able to keep up with the demand of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, as the curved screen of the device was hard to manufacture.

"Some carriers are switching existing orders to get more of the S6 Edge, and it looks like demand for the model will exceed supply throughout this year. That means average selling price will fall at a slower rate, which will have a positive impact on Samsung overall," said HMC Investment analyst Greg Roh.

Shin also added that the company is still in partnership with Qualcomm and explained why they used their own chips.

"We have used the best engines to make our products competitive, which is why we opted to use our own chips. But we may very well end up using products from Qualcomm again in the next Galaxy phone," he was quoted as saying.

Samsung will be "rolling out the S carpet" for the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge around the world. This will reportedly give customers the opportunity to transfer the data from their old phone to their new one on the spot.

The Galaxy S6 packs a 5.1-inch QHD display, octa-core Exynos 7 processor, 3GB of RAM, 16MP rear camera and up to 128GB of storage. The S6 has a 2550 mAh battery while the S6 Edge has 2600 mAh.
