It appears Cupertino based tech giant Apple is determined to give iPhone users some uber cool features such as Wi-Fi calling, Wireless CarPlay and more with its latest iOS 8.3 update.
Apple recently released iOS 8.3 which, among many new features, now enables users to select from over 300 emojis, ranging from faces to hand gestures. In addition, iOS 8.3 also comes with an enhanced Wi-Fi calling feature.
One of the more impressive things that the iOS 8.3 offers is that it completely modifies the emoji picker. It also adds new characters, more skin-tone options, numerous new flags, and updated phone, watch and computer emojis.
But that's not all. According to NVONews, iOS 8.3 brings an update to the iCloud Photo Library in addition to providing support for the Google two-factor authentication, providing a bigger space bar and enabling Apple Pay support for the China UnionPay network. It also includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth fixes, rotation and orientation fixes, and other enhancements in in Accessibility, Enterprise, CarPlay, Family Sharing and Messages.
For Star Trek fanatics who own an iPhone, the iOS 8.3 update another emoji that is being widely circulated, IndiaToday noted. Inspired by the hand gesture that has become a symbol of the Star Trek series, there's now a new emoji that displays the Vulcan Salute.
Follow these simple steps to get the Vulcan Salute emoji:
- Update the operating system to the latest iOS 8.3
- Spot the emoji on the Internet and copy it.
- Go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Shortcuts, click the '+' button on the top right, and paste the emoji there. Add the shortcut phrase (for example "long live and prosper" or just "llp").
