Baby Sasha is still latching on to his mother for milk, but he already helped raise money for children in Africa, as the adorable photo of Shakira and boyfriend Gerard Pique's boy was posted on the singer's Instagram.
UNICEF shared a press release on its website as the organization claimed that Shakira and boyfriend Gerard Pique's baby shower helped raise $150,000 for the cause.
The singer said in a statement, "Gerard and I are so happy to know that so many kids will benefit from the generosity of all of those who have participated in the World Baby Shower movement-and that we've raised 130,000 polio and measles vaccines and enough therapeutic food packets to feed 15,000 children - among other things that will now go to children in need."
"What is most exciting is that more than 500 mothers have organized their own baby shower which has also helped even more children all around the world," she said.
This is the second time for Shakira and boyfriend Gerard Pique to participate in the Baby Shower campaign by UNICEF.
Shanell Halle, the head of the organization's global supply operations, said, "This is an extraordinary show of generosity on the part of Shakira and Gerard, but also by the thousands of people who went out of their way to share in this event by giving to others."
On April 15, Shakira posted a close-up of baby Sasha on her Instagram. Gerard Pique's girlfriend captioned the image, "Sasha out for a stroll! / Sasha de paseo! Shak."
On Father's Day, Shakira also shared a composite Instagram photo of boyfriend Gerard Pique when he was still a baby and Sasha which showed a striking resemblance. She also captioned the photo, "father and son."
"The phrase 'De tal palo tal astilla,' said Hello! magazine, "was also written across the photo collage, which is a common phrase in Colombia that means a child behaves like their father."
Shakira and boyfriend Gerard Pique welcomed baby Sasha on Jan. 29 as he was born 9:54 p.m. at a Barcelona hospital.
