China's Huawei unveiled the P8 and P8 Max smartphones at London's renowned arts and fashion venue, the legendary Old Billingsgate, with the phrase "Making it Possible."
The largest telecommunication equipment maker in the world, Huawei, unveiled the flagship P8 and P8 Max smartphones on April 15. Both the P8 and its phablet cousin, the P8 Max offer power, have impressive specs and metal unibody designs. Moreover, the P8 and P8 Max will be an apt choice for the budget conscious buyers, PocketLint noted.
The devices will stack up against the latest models from Apple and Samsung, at least in terms of technical specifications if not marketing budget.
The P8 boasts an eight-core 64-bit processor and a 5.2 inch display screen, which is slightly larger than the Samsung Galaxy S6, unveiled in March, and the iPhone 6. In addition, the phone is comparatively thinner than its rival since it's made from a single piece of metal with a width of 6.4 millimeters, Huawei said at a global launch event in London.
Purportedly mimicking the tech giant Apple, Huawei also launched a super-size version, the P8 Max, which sports a 6.8 inch screen, IBNLive noted.
While both of these handsets boast an array of awesome features, one of the accessories that's worth taking a look at is the HTC Dot View case.
Richard Yu, Huawei CEO introduced the "enriched experience magnetic case."
Yu explained that it was an "industry first" combining the Dot View bit with the magnetic case, so now users can prop up their P8 Max and watch movies or whatever. Huawei also used 10:08 as the time displayed on the front of its case. HTC has used 10:08 as the time in its product shots since the year dot, PocketLint noted. The Chinese company's enriched experience case will also feature alarms, weather notification and time.
Huawei's P series has been a huge hit among smartphone users around the world. Global sales of the Huawei P6 have reportedly totaled 5 million units in 60 countries while the Huawei P7 exceeded 4 million sales across more than 100 countries in a span of six months.
According to Yu, the huge success of the Huawei P6 and P7 is a clear indication of a strong potential demand for Huawei P8.
There are two versions of the Huawei P8, the standard device for £359 ($537) and the premium version for £431($645).
