Microsoft released 'Halo' spin offs for iOS, Windows 8 and Windows 8 Phone and Steam as a digital download for $5.99.
Microsoft unveiled "Halo: Spartan Strike," a twin-stick shooter video game set in the Halo universe for Windows 8, Windows Phone 8, Steam, iPhone and iPad. The mobile Halo game is the successor to "Halo: Spartan Assault" and was created by Microsoft Studios and 343 Industries in collaboration with Vanguard Games. The game can be digitally downloaded for a price of $5.99, according to Forbes.
"Halo: Spartan Strike" tells a fascinating new story in the Halo universe set during the events of Halo 2 in New Mombasa in 2552. For mobile device users, the game features controls tuned to touch screens.
"Halo: Spartan Strike" reportedly not only has better touch controls than the previous versions of Halo, but it also boasts sharper graphics.
Playing a Spartan super soldier in a classified ONI simulation, look into thirty demanding missions while spearheading UNSC troops through cities and jungles with an all new armory of weapons, vehicles and abilities, XboxWire noted.
Players can compete with their friends in the "Halo: Spartan Strike" weekly challenges on the Windows 8 version of the game. In addition, players can earn achievements that unravel an exclusive avatar, nameplate ad emblem in the "Halo: The Master Chief Collection" on the Xbox One.
Microsoft also released the "Halo: Spartan Bundle" on iPad, iPhone, and Steam. Coinciding with the launch of "Halo: Spartan Strike," the bundle costs $9.99 and includes "Halo: Spartan Strike" and "Halo: Spartan Assault."
"Halo: Spartan Assault" is the original Halo top-down third-person shooter video game set between the events of Halo 3 and Halo 4.
