Zayn Malik proves that there's no bad blood between him and his former One Direction band mates as he thanked them during a speech at the 2015 Asian Awards on April 17.

Perrie Edwards' fiancé was awarded with the plum for his contribution in music, being of Pakistani heritage.

During his speech, the 22-year-old said, "I'd also like to take this moment to thank four of the best guys I've ever met. Everything I've done with them will stay with me for the rest of my life."

"When Zayn stepped out at the Asian Awards, he looked different," Hollywood Life said. "That's because he completely shaved his head! Zayn got rid of his longer hair in favor of a buzzed 'do. Needless to say, Zayn fans freaked out over the hair makeover, but that wasn't the last surprise Zayn had for us."

"Zayn also got a nose ring! This is a whole new Zayn we're seeing, and we have to say, we love it!"

Zayn Malik quit One Direction supposedly because of stress. But his decision to leave the band coincided with the cheating rumors surrounding his trip to Thailand. The rumors allegedly threatened his engagement with Perrie Edwards.

The rest of the band members, however, promised that One Direction will be better and stronger than ever.

In an interview with The Sun, Louis Tomlimson said that they are 100 percent committed to the band despite Zayn Malik's decision to quit.

"We want to thank the fans for being so incredible during this time. We have so much more we still want to achieve," he said. "Our gigs in South Africa were some of the biggest the country has ever seen, so it's exciting for us to keep breaking records for British music worldwide."

Liam Payne added, "It's been a tough few weeks, probably the toughest since the band was formed five years ago. We're gutted that Zayn chose to leave, but now after a few performances as a four piece, we're feeling confident and are determined to carry on stronger than ever."
