Sony is all set to launch a 4K TV that is so thin, the Japanese electronics giant claims it is actually thinner than the Apple iPhone 6.

Sony will be bringing three different models of this new super thin 4K TV with screens that measure 55-inches, 65-inches or 75-inches. TheNextDigit notes that the upcoming super thin 4K TVs will measure just 0.2 inches thin at their thinnest point.

According to Sony, these new versions of the 4K TV line are made to have screens that are nearly bezel-less, and run almost edge-to-edge.

Sony announced the existence of its 4K-heavy 2015 lineup of TVs in January at this year's CES. The company also posted detailed specs on their features and differences. When the prices leaked in February, Sony neither denied nor confirmed their accurateness. Now, just a couple of weeks before the first model starts shipping, the Japanese electronics giant has not only revealed the official pricing but also put the TVs up for preorder on its site, according to CNet.

The new TVs will reportedly run on Google's Android TV platform that gives connectivity to casting features, Android gaming, Google Play and also the ability to use your Android phone as a remote.

The full 2015 4K Ultra HD lineup is powered by the X1 processor engine, amplifying contrast, color as well as clarity in both HD and 4K content. Sony TVs have had expanded color, brightness range and up scaling for a long time, however the X1 processor takes another step forward in enhancing these features.

Moreover, thanks to X-RealityTM PRO Picture Engine, developed from more than ten years of experience in upscaling, all existing HD content is upscaled to super clear 4K quality. TRILUMINOS(TM) further provides the widest color range ever, while dynamic color correction ensures colors are as consistent and accurate as possible, AfterDawn noted.

Check the prices for Sony's 4K Ultra HD TV series including the X930C and X940C which will support High Dynamic Range (HDR) content that offers a wider range of colors.

It's no secret, customers love thinner smartphones, but will customers also love televisions that appear to be so thin they look like they could break in a strong breeze, is something we will need to wait and watch.

The 4K TVs will be launched this summer.
