Bobbi Kristina Brown's medical condition might have probably reached a point of no return as doctors cited "irreversible brain damage" on Whitney Houston's daughter.
The 22-year-old's grandmother, Cissy Houston, released a statement to media outlets on Monday after visiting Bobbi Kristina Brown and talking to her doctors.
The statement read, "While she is no longer in a medically induced coma she has a tracheotomy and according to the doctors she has global and irreversible brain damage and remains unresponsive."
"Meeting with the doctors and understanding that she can live in this condition for a lifetime truly saddens me. We can only trust in God for a miracle at this time."
Cissy Houston's statement was very different to the earlier pronouncements of Bobby Brown and sister Tina regarding Bobbi Kristina Brown's latest condition.
Bobby Brown's sister, Tina, wrote on her Facebook account that her niece already woke up and "is no longer on life support."
"Still a process, but she is going to be OK," the post added.
This was confirmed by Whitney Houston's husband who also told reporters at a concert over the weekend that Bobbi Kristina was "awake."
"Taken together, the comments appear to indicate that while Bobbi Kristina may no longer be dependent on life support, she is not interacting with family or visitors and her prognosis remains unclear," said Sydney Morning Herald.
In a later statement, Bobby Brown's wife Alicia clarified per E! Online the singer's statements to the press on Bobbi Kristina's latest condition.
"My husband made an attempt to correct the negative comments he must endure on a daily basis from both family and the public regarding his daughter's medical condition," Alicia said.
"He is encouraged by the steps that Bobbi Kristina has madesince her hospitalization on January 31, 2015. She has made it out of ICU, opened her eyes, and started a rehabilitation that will be long and hard."
The contradicting statements Bobbi Kristina Brown's condition illustrate the fracture between the families, which are also divided on whether to take the 22-year-old off life support.
Bobbi Kristina Brown was found unconscious lying face down in a bathtub in the Atlanta, Georgia home she shared with boyfriend and rumored husband Nick Gordon, who was adopted by Whitney Houston.
