Is there a "Lizzie McGuire" reunion film or TV series in the pipeline?
Jake Thomas, who plays Matt McGuire, wrote on his website about that "Lizzie McGuire" reunion photo where he posed at a bowling alley with Hillary Duff and Lalaine Vergara.
He wrote, "It had been well over a decade since we had all been together in one spot, and to be honest, it was pretty surreal..."
"We managed to chat a little and reconnect. She couldn't get over the fact that I had a beard and I couldn't get over the fact that she has a freakin' kid now! Jeez! We actually grew up!"
But that's not really the whole news as Jake Thomas added, "It was great for us all to see each other again, and perhaps there's something in the works very soon;)"
"Lizzie McGuire" first aired at Disney Channel on Jan. 12, 2001 and bid goodbye with its final episode on Feb. 14, 2004.
He told MTV News that after the show ended, they went off living their respective lives.
"I've slowly, in the past year, been trying to catch up with everyone. I'm really glad I have...it's been really good to see everyone. You know, they were my family growing up and now it's a little bit of a family reunion," he said.
Jake Thomas added, "It's weird that it is a show that became so nostalgic and that people had such a close and really personal kind of relationship with. You know, we only did two seasons, 65 episodes, which is relatively short compared to what Disney shows are doing now.
As for Adam Lamberg, who plays Gordo, he's now trying to get his masters degree and living in New York so he didn't join the group at the bowling alley for the mini-reunion.
MTV News also asked Jake Thomas to elaborate on his blog post regarding a possible "Lizzie McGuire" reunion, and he replied, "We'll see, but I can't comment on anything right now."
