Asus Zenfone 2 US Launch Set On May 18; 128GB Variant Available At Flipkart In India For $471

The Asus Zenfone 2 will officially launch in the US in May while the device's 128GB variant is available in India through Flipkart.

Asus has sent an official media event and stated that Asus Zenfone 2 series of smartphones will be officially launched in North America on May 18, cited Android Authority.

According to International Business Times, the Asus Zenfone 2 has three variants, which are ZE500CL, ZE551ML and ZE550ML.

The Asus Zenfone 2 Z2550ML has 5.5-inch IPS capacitive display, 720 x 1280 resolution, 1.8 GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3560 processor, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and 3,000 mAh battery.

The ZE500CL has the 5-inch IPS capacitive display, 1.6 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, MicroSD card expansion of internal storage of up to 128GB, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera and 2,500 mAh battery.

The third model of Asus Zenfone 2 is the ZE551ML, which has a 5.5-inch capacitive display, 2.3 GHz quad-core Intel Atom processor within the 4GB RAM variant and 1.8 GHz quad-core Intel Atom processor within the 2GB variant. It is available in three storage variants, the 16, 32 and 64GB respectively and offers a 3000 mAh battery.

Moreover, all three handsets run on Android 5.0 operating system with Asus ZenUI on top. They also have a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for screen protection against scratches and offer connectivity options such as 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, HSPA, Wi-Fi and microUSB connectivity.

Furthermore, Indian Express reported that Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML 128GB variant is now available for purchase in India through Flipkart.

In Flipkart site, the Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML 128GB, silver color with 4 GB RAM with 2.3 GHz processor and expandable storage capacity of 128 GB is priced at Rs. 29,999, which is roughly around $471.

As for its availability, there is no information yet released by the retailer, and the page simply reads, "Coming soon."
