5SOS has just released a new song called "Permanent Vacation," which was reportedly inspired by Green Day. Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood, Ashton Irwin and Micahel Clifford debuted their new song on the first date of their "Rock Out With Your Socks Out" tour in Portugal.
The boys of 5SOS has treated their fans to a live performance of "Permanent Vacation" in the first leg of their world tour in Lisbon, Portugal last May 4. As pointed out by Pop Crush, the new song totally brought Michael Clifford's voice in the spotlight.
"It's totally notable for the prominence of Michael's vocals, which don't get a chance to shine as nearly often as they should. He seriously kills it on the number."

Several websites have observed that 5SOS have learned a lot from Green Day's pop rock style which is very evident in their new song.
During the iHeart Radio Music Awards, 5SOS revealed that they were planning to release a new album this 2015, however, they wanted to give their fans something different this time around. Guitarist Michael Clifford refused to give further details on when they will be releasing the track but assured 5SOS fans that it will be this as soon as possible.
"We've written most of it, and we're recording it now. We'll release it when it's right, whether it's on the tour or at the end of the tour. New music will definitely be out this year," he said, via Fashion and Style.
Given Green Day's influence to the band, it won't be surprising if they would be collaborating with 5SOS in the next one. But for its 2015 release, it was Good Charlotte who they ended up working with.
"We really look up to them, their whole movement as a band. It's amazing they're on board with us. They're great dudes," Luke Hemmings said.
