The official photos from the “World of Warcraft” movie has just been released. Director Duncan Jones gave fans a first look at the film by tweeting a photo of actor Robert Kazinsky in character as Orgrim Doomhammer.
"Hey mate! :). Looking handsome as ever! @RobertKazinsky" he tweeted.
In an interview with Wired, Jones revealed that they have chosen Robert Kazinsky to play the role of Orgrim not because of his physical attributes but what he was able to bring to the set.
"We were looking for someone who would be able to perform the gruffness, the humour, and the toughness of this character," he said.
"We've gone beyond the point where these are just creatures in movies. We now have the technology and the ability to make new characters entirely."
Jones also revealed, via Crave Online, that he has never played "World of Warcraft" before he was tapped as the director.
"It's amazing how many people play the game. I saw all the visuals. The movie is so close to Warcraft. They really kept it true to the game and you get a pretty good sense of the game just from what we're doing on set."
In 2013, Jones was reportedly hired to co-write and direct the film after Sam Raimi (Spider-Man) quit the production claiming that he had a different vision from what the video game maker Blizzard had in mind.
Unfortunately, the producers have yet to spill a few more details about the highly anticipated film adaptation. In the past, what fans only saw were props and title cards for the film, so it's very exciting to finally get a picture of how the film would be played out.
"World of Warcraft" movie is set to premiere in June 10, 2016. It was initially due for release this year. However, due to several concerns in production, the show runners decided to move it to a later date.
The movie stars "The Hobbit's Robert Kazinsky (Orgrim Doomhammer), Dominic Cooper, Travis Fimmel, Toby Kebbell, Paula Patton, Ben Foster and Clancy Brown.
