Are Jim Bob and Michelle Dugar protecting their son, Josh, at the expense of their daughters in the wake of the "19 Kids & Counting" sex molestation scandal?
After allegedly misleading police that they sent Josh Dugar to a rehab facility after he confessed to "improperly touching" five girls, including two of his sisters, this time "19 Kids & Counting" couple Jim Bob And Michelle Dugar have accused Springdale police chief Kathy O'Kelly of extorting from them.
It was found out later that they lied about sending Josh Dugar to a rehab when he was still a teen.
During their interview on The Kelly File, Michelle said, "There's an agenda. There's people that are purposely trying to bring things out and twisting them to hurt and slander."
Apparently, the leak on the sex molestation scandal-first reported by In Touch Weekly-was led by the police chief to mulct money from him, according to Jim Bob.
"She was getting ready to retire and she said, 'There's a few things I want to do before I retire. I think I was on her list," he said.
Josh already released a statement, along with his wife Ana, after the sex molestation scandal.
"We pray that as people watch our lives they see that we are not a perfect family. We have challenges and struggles everyday. It is one of the reasons we treasure our faith so much because God's kindness and goodness and forgiveness are extended to us - even though we are so undeserving," it read.
The sex molestation scandal involving Josh Dugar prompted TLC Network-still reeling from the controversy of "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" when Mama June allegedly dated a convicted child molester-from canceling the rest of the episodes for "19 Kids & Counting."
Josh Dugar's sisters, Jill and Jessa, also came to his defense with the latter saying that he's not a "child molester or a pedophile or a rapist."
"I'm like that is so overboard and a lie really. I mean people get mad at me for saying that but I can say this because I was one of the victims," Jessa Dugar said.
