Caitlyn Jenner has turned to her own support group after coming out with a bang for the Vanity Fair cover.
On June 6, Caitlyn Jenner tweeted a photo of herself with her back to the camera along with five others whom she introduced as her "girlfriends." She captioned the image, "Learn from those who have walked the path before you. #TransIsBeautiful #LivingOurTruth #JustTheBeginning."
The post was retweeted nearly 10,500 times.
The Twitter account by Caitlyn Jenner was created on June 1 with this introduction, "I'm so happy after such a long struggle to be living my true self. Welcome to the world Caitlyn. Can't wait for you to get to know her/me."
In just four hours, her followers already reached 1 million.
Entertainment Weekly pointed out that #TransIsBeautiful is a hashtag popularized by Laverne Cox of "Orange is the New Black" after Caitlyn Jenner's Vanity Fair cover.
Laverne Cox explained that the #TransIsBeautiful is a platform to celebrate the trans folks.
"For me it is necessary everyday to celebrate every aspect of myself especially those things about myself that don't align with other people's ideas about what is beautiful. #TransIsBeautiful is about, whether you're trans or not, celebrating all those things that make us uniquely ourselves," she said.
NY Daily News noted that it's not clear whether Caitlyn Jenner was with five other transgenders, "but Jenner has many people supporting her since the Vanity Fair cover got so much attention in the past week."
For her Vanity Fair cover, Caitlyn Jenner recalled that the photoshoot was a good day.
"That was a good day, but the last couple of days were better," she said. "This shoot was about my life and who I am as a person. It's not about the fanfare, it's not about people cheering in the stadium, it's not about going down the street and everybody giving you 'that a boy, Bruce,' pat on the back, O.K. This is about your life."
