Anna Kendrick is not keen about the idea of doing a "Pitch Perfect 3" movie. Although Rebel Wilson has been more than enthusiastic about reprising her role as Fat Amy in the franchise, the other Barden Bellas seem to have other ideas in mind.
Speaking to Time Magazine, Anna Kendrick admitted that she's on the fence about doing "Pitch Perfect 3."
"I'm not one to count my chickens, so I just want to see how this one does and find out if there's an appetite for that before I even think about it. I'll drive myself crazy," she said.
The "Into the Woods" actress added that she was already hesitant about making "Pitch Perfect 2" worried that it would be another one of those "half-assed comedy sequels." She, however, was quick to add that she did not let the opportunity pass by.
"I didn't know if they were just going to do a sloppy seconds version of it, and that was the thing that made me nervous," Kendrick said.
"When I found out it was really going forward and it was going to be a real movie and everybody was coming back-there was no way I was going to miss out on that."
"Pitch Perfect" director Elizabeth Banks, however, remained confident about doing another movie. Although the plot and cast have yet to be finalized, she said that they are seriously putting much thought into it.
"We're thinking about, we're thinking about it very seriously," she said.
"Of course we're at the very beginning of that process. We would love to spend more time with these characters that everyone's fallen so hard in love with."
Ecumenical News pointed out that "Pitch Perfect 3" could be a spin-off movie about Fat Amy's life and follow her journey as she tries to break into Hollywood.
