Lee Jun Ki is expected to return to the set of his upcoming drama on June 18. The actor fractured his nose on June 10 while filming an action scene for the fantasy historical drama "The Scholar Who Walks The Night."
After surgery was performed on his nose, he rested for a few days.
Doctors wanted to be sure his condition was stable before he returned to work on the drama. Fortunately he was only out for a little more than a week.
However, his co-star Lee Yoo Bi is taking longer to recover. She still has no projected date of return. Both actors were injured while filming the same scene early in the morning.
The actress suffered a herniated lumbar disc and the injury left her temporarily unable to walk. Both actors were admitted to the hospital but Lee Yoo Bi may have to stay longer.
According to her agency, Sidus HQ, she will likely remain in the hospital for another week. At the time of the accident it was hoped that she would return after a few days of medical treatment, but she has not recovered.
" While she will try to return as soon as possible, we plan to check on her progress after focusing on treatment," said the Sidus HQ representative.
The first episode of the drama is due to air in July after the end of "Warm and Cozy," starring Yoo Yeon Suk and Kang So Ra. But the "Night Scholar" production company does not expect that the accidents involving their leading stars will necessarily delay the start date of the drama. Many scenes were filmed in May.
"The first broadcast will air as scheduled."
