According to the June 25 report from Nielsen Korea, "Mask" experienced a slight drop in ratings for its June 24 episode. "Mask" recorded 10.8 percent which was a viewership decline from 11.8 percent on June 18. In the ninth episode, the melodrama began to explore some of its most unusual plot devices, as Ji Sook (Soo Ae) was faced with potential exposure while detained by the police.
Min Woo (Joo Ji Hoon) revealed his perspective on his wife, Seo Eun Ha. He discussed his philosophy regarding the integrity of his wife, who is willing to look him directly in the eye. He then challenged his sister, Choi Mi Yeon (Yoo In Young) to find her reflection in the eyes of her husband.
Ji Sook rescued her brother Byeon Ji Hyeok (INFINITE’s Hoya) from a confrontational situation with the loansharks. While the episode opened with the premise that Ji Sook would be exposed as an imposter, she was able to remain unscathed.
MBC’s “Warm and Cozy” recorded 7.5 percent in nationwide viewership for thirteenth episode, which was a decrease from its previous rating of 8.2 percent. Gun Woo (Yoo Yeon Seok) started to detach from his loved ones, including Jung Joo (Kang Sora), as he prepared to depart from Jeju Island. As the episode concluded, it became apparent that his departure would be necessary to protect the relationship of his brother Jung Geun (Lee Sung Jae) and the widowed lady diver.
By contrast, ratings for “Masked Prosecutor” increased to 6.0 percent.
