The "Game of Thrones" has been criticized for its portrayal of women and one of its stars, Emilia Clarke, has confessed that the criticisms can sometimes become hurtful. The English actress also hoped that Jon Snow is indeed alive after the season 4 finale.
During an interview with EW Morning Live on Entertainment Weekly Radio, as shared by Time, Emilia Clarke said, "Well, obviously, it's never nice hearing criticism about something that you, and you know everybody else puts their heart, soul, blood, sweat, and tears into."
However, she understand that "Game of Thrones" is tackling controversial themes so naturally it's going to invite some commentary.
"I think it's a couple of things, because I mean, as an actor, it's bizarre, because you'll relish those dark moments that allow you to get your teeth into a character and really kind of explore the darker depths to the reality of life and things that happen every day," she said.
"But I think the thing that's important to remember is that sadly, first and foremost, it's a story that we're telling that is make-believe-that is based in a fantastical world."
With that in mind, Emilia Clarke claimed that she's not taking too seriously any criticisms about "Game of Thrones."
However, what she does take seriously is the subject of Jon Snow's death in "Game of Thrones" season 4 finale.
"I cried and I called David and Dan and I took Kit out for numerous drinks and was like 'what the- you're leaving me? You're abandoning us?'" she said in an interview with MTV
But will Jon Snow come back in "Game of Thrones" season 5?
"If I have to bet, I'd say it's a 50/50 chance - there's some helpful people there who could bring him on back to life," she said, before quickly adding that "I have no idea what's going to happen."
