Music streaming service dubbed Apple Music from Apple Inc. is slated to go live on Tuesday, June 30, and Apple Music's debut will coincide with the launch of iOS 8.4 and the Beats 1 radio station.

According to a post by Ian Rogers, the former CEO of Beats who is now a senior director for Apple Music, "Tuesday morning we'll be unveiling the next chapter. Please make a note to upgrade to iOS 8.4 Tuesday, June 30th and listen to our first day of broadcasting."

Apple however has not shared any details about the update so far, however such additional updates are pushed without much notice, The Indian Express noted.

After being available for free for the first three months, Apple Music will cost $9.99/month. The family plan that caters up to six family members will cost $14.99/month. There will be an India-specific pricing as well.

Furthermore In his post, Rogers even noted that iOS 8.4 would go live at 8 a.m. PT, a little earlier than its customary 10 a.m. release date, with the launch of Beats 1 following an hour later.

However, 9to5Mac noted that time reference does not appear in his blog anymore.

Apple plans to grab a larger share of the online music market, a segment that's undergoing a powerful evolution. With its offering, the tech giant will lock horns with rivals including Spotify, Rdio and Rhapsody that offer several songs played on demand and song collections tailored to listeners' personal tastes, CNet noted.

According to International Federation of the Phonographic Industry, last year revenue from global digital music saw a growth of 6.9 percent to $6.85 billion, with revenue from subscription services increasing 39 percent to $1.57 billion.

International Federation of the Phonographic Industry is a global trade group for the music business.

While downloads account for nearly 52 percent, download sales fell 8 percent in 2014, the IFPI reported. In addition, sales of physical albums also declined 8 percent last year.

The Apple Music catalogue is anticipated to offer more than 30 million songs and it says users can "stream any song, album or playlist you choose."
