India's popular smartphone maker Micromax has launched its newest budget smartphone dubbed Bolt D303 priced at Rs 3,499 (about $55) in India.
Following on the legacy of the Micromax Unite series which comes with regional languages, the Bolt D303 also comes pre-loaded with 10 regional languages. The Bolt D303 lets users type, chat and even change the menu of their phone in their preferred language.
Moreover, The Bolt D303 boasts the 'Swipe' feature which is powered by Firstouch. According to Micromax, this feature enables consumers to type faster in their regional language. The company further adds that the Bolt D303 uses a "patented Regional Keyboard" that has 2 lakh word for each language, according to reports from The Indian Express.
Sporting a 4-inch WVGA display with 480 x 800 pixels of resolution, the Bolt D303 is powered by a 1.3GHz dual-core processor that's coupled with 512MB of RAM. The Bolt D303 sports a 32MP fixed rear camera, and a 0.3MP front facing camera. It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat.
As far as storage capacity is concerned, the Micromax Bolt D303 comes with 4GB of built-in storage that is further expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. In terms of connectivity options, the device includes 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro-USB 2.0, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The smartphone is powered by a 1300mAh battery, and is rated to deliver 245 hours of standby time and up to 4.5 hours talk time, NDTV Gadgets noted.
The Micromax Bolt D303 comes pre-loaded with a slew of apps such as Chatz, Clean Master, Hotstar, Housing, NewsHunt, Quickr, Scandid, and Snapdeal along with the Firstouch App Bazaar for regional language apps. Firstouch launcher is also on board.
The Micromax Bolt D303 will be available only in gray-blue color at retail outlets.
Last month, Micromax launched the Canvas Selfie Lens smartphone, priced at Rs. 8,299 (about $130). It comes with a clip-on wide-angle lens. Micromax's new smartphone will come with bundled data offer from Vodafone offering up to 500MB 3G data free for first two months.
