In the wake of the news that Alicia Vikander is leaving "Assassin's Creed" movie, Michael Fassbender's girlfriend was just named the new muse for Louis Vuitton campaign.
According to WWD, Alicia Vikander is the face of Nicolas Ghesquière's "Series 3" campaign for Louis Vuitton. It also features Bruce Weber and Juergen Teller as the photographers.
"Vikander joins Jennifer Connelly, another Vuitton stalwart, in the fall spots, slated to break in a range of August fashion titles," it said. "Seeking to represent diverse ages and nationalities in his advertising, Nicolas Ghesquière, artistic director of women's collections at Vuitton, also cast Liya Kebede, Fernanda Ly and Angel Rutledge for the Teller shots, photographed at the utopian home of a sculptor, located near Barcelona."
Michael Fassbender's girlfriend's star is clearly rising this year, particularly after her turn as an android in "Ex Machina," which was lauded by critics.
Talking about "Ex Machina" to Wired, she said, "It's wonderful when you get on a project and you just feel like everyone is quite excited about the film. Everyone believes in it. The gaffers and runners and set builders and everyone just wanted to bring their little thing to this film and it was a very good experience. That's when filmmaking is the best, when everything moves like little machinery."
Meanwhile, Michael Fassbender's girlfriend dropped "Assassin's Creed" to join Matt Damon in "Jason Bourne." It would have been their second project together after "The Light Between Oceans."
In "Jason Bourne," Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass, who's also writing the script, will again team up to bring the superspy's exploits on the screen. The film will be produced by Frank Marshall and Jeffrey Weiner.
Even as she left "Assassin's Creed," Alicia Vikander can also be seen in "The Danish Girl," "The Man from U.N.C.L.E.," "Tulip Fever" and "The Light Between Oceans," opposite her boyfriend Michael Fassbender.
