Square Enix has officially revealed the winning collectible for the "Just Cause 3" Collector's Edition.
Square Enix had earlier asked the gaming community to vote on what could eventually be made available on the "Just Cause 3" Collector's Edition.
According to reports on Inquisitr, a 15-inch replica display of Rico's iconic grappling hook won the spotlight with the most votes. With a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $109.99, the collection is available for pre-order at participating retailers in North America.
Indian game retailer Games The Shop has announced that the "Just Cause 3" Collector's Edition is up for pre-order. The Collector's Edition pre-order is available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. While the PC version of the "Just Cause 3" Collector's Edition is priced at $125, the console versions are priced at $141, IGN noted.
The contents of the Just Cause 3 Collector's Edition include:
Just Cause Day One Edition: Include Weaponized Vehicle Pack
Replica Grappling Hook
Map of Medici: A poster map (24" x 24") of the Mediterranean archipelago of Medici
Art book: A 32-page, hardcover book that brings the explosive world of "Just Cause 3" to life
Some of the collectibles however did not make the cut. Collectibles such as a "Just Cause 3" branded backpack, a remote control helicopter, a nine-inch Rico statue, and dioramas of Rico in various action poses failed to make the cut.
"Much like the high-octane action of Just Cause 3, we wanted to give fans a Collector's Edition that speaks to their breed of fun... Out of all the items we offered, the grappling hook was by far the most popular, and the fans made a solid choice to elevate this collection," senior product marketing manager, Damian Garcia said noting that the grappling hook replica totally won over fans during the voting process.
It's not a surprise that some retailers have already sold out the collectible edition shortly after the announcement. Square Enix Online Store, however still has the Collector's Edition listed as available for pre-order as of this writing.
The grappling hook included in the Collector's Edition gives "Just Cause 3" fans the opportunity to live a moment in Rico's shoes at The Square Enix Experience in downtown San Diego during Comic-Con. Nevertheless, the grappling hook is for display purposes only.
The interactive exhibit put fans at the top of a 40-foot tower and sent them down a 150-foot zip line with a rifle. Players were tasked to take out marked targets along the way and compete for leaderboard rankings, according to official Square Enix blog.
"Just Cause 3" is slated to release globally on Dec. 1, 2015 and it will be playable on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
