Jared Leto and Margot Robbie have spent a lot of time together on the set of "Suicide Squad" along with their other cast mates.
Jared Leto plays Joker while Margot Robbie plays Harley Quinn in the movie scheduled to hit theaters in August 2016.
According to MTV, Jared has been a very sensitive colleague that he made efforts to compensate for his absence from the set - the only catch is that, the gifts reportedly come from Joker and not from Jared.
"First, the entire cast was sent a video from Leto in character, along with a dead hog," Victoria McNally wrote in her MTV article. "Then, Will Smith got his own personal note with a bullet enclosed. And Margot Robbie, who plays the Joker's companion Harley, received a 'nice love letter with a black box with a rat in it - a live rat,' [Adam] Beach said."
Was Margot Robbie freaked out by the rodent gift that she received from Joker? Bustle noted that Jared Leto is known to employ method acting to perform his film roles well. In fact, the actor used method acting for his roles in "Requiem For a Dream" and "Dallas Buyers Club."
In an interview with Elle, Margot Robbie talked about Jared Leto's gift to her and why she decided to keep the rodent she named Rat Rat despite several crew members suggesting killing it.
"If Harley [her character in Suicide Squad] got something from Joker, she'd probably cherish it." the 24-year-old actress said.
Entertinment Tonight reported that aside from Jared Leto and Margot Robbie, "Suicide Squad" also stars Will Smith as Deadshot, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, Jai Courntey as Captain Boomerang, Jay Hernandez as El Diablo, and Karen Fukuhara as Katana.
In the trailer, Ben Affleck was also seen making a cameo as Batman on the roof of The Joker's car.
