'Scholar Who Walks The Night' Ratings Slightly Increased

The July 23 episode of "Scholar Who Walks the Night" recorded a small increase in ratings, as Kim So Eun received more screen time. According to the July 24 report issued by Nielsen Korea, MBC's "Scholar Who Walks the Night" recorded 7.8 percent of nationwide viewership. This is an increase of 0.1 percent from its ratings recorded for the supernatural romance on July 22.

The sixth episode of "Scholar Who Walks the Night" illustrated increased tensions between the vampire Gwi (Lee Soo Hyuk) and booksellers within the kingdom. Gwi placed greater pressure on officials in the kingdom to locate the legendary tome which contains instructions to destroy him.

Jo Yang Sun (Lee Yoo Bi) was able to escape from the bookseller roundup, but her scent was later discovered by Gwi, as she walked through the streets.

Choi Hye Ryung (Kim So Eun) is revealed to be a sympathizer of Gwi, but she is distrustful enough to protect the secret of her encounter with Kim Sung Yeol (Lee Joon Gi). Audiences and critics have responded positively to her appearance in the program, which has been brief.

"Mask" continues a collision course towards its penultimate episode. The SBS melodrama increased by 0.3 percent, recording 12.7 percent of nationwide viewership. Episode 18 demonstrated that both Choi Mi Yeon (Yoo In Young) and Min Seok Hoon (Yeon Jeong Hun) are evilest characters in the series. The couple has plotted and killed throughout each episode, but their reign of terror concluded with a plot to destroy Byeon Ji Sook (Soo Ae) and Choi Min Woo (Joo Ji Hoon).

"Mask" concludes its 20-episode run on July 30.

The KBS political series, "Assembly" experienced a decrease in ratings, dropping 0.3 percent to 4.9 percent.
