Alicia Vikander is mum about her relationship with Michael Fassbender in a latest cover story for The Edit magazine, but the "Ex Machina" star talked about the time the acting bug bit her.
In the interview, Alicia Vikander said that she's chosen to be private about her relationship with "Prometheus" star Michael Fassbender.
"I knew that celebrity was a side-product of my career choice, and it's totally worth it if I get to do what I love, but it's not something I feel very comfortable with," she said.
The actress said, "I've spoken to a lot of actors who have taught me that it is a choice. I believe that staying private is something you can choose, and it is certainly the choice I'm making."
However, the "Ex Machina" actress revealed how her love for acting was honed when she was still very young and was allowed to watch her mother perform on stage.
"I can remember every detail," Vikander said. "The lights, the smell, the sense of magic... That's a wonderful thing for any child to experience."
That's the reason why when she was just six years old, she auditioned for a ballet musical only to realize later that it wasn't going to be her path. But her dancer's training did give her a good insight that will help her acting career.
Michael Fassbender's girlfriend explained, "As a dancer, the most important thing you have to learn is how to tell a story without speaking. And that is what the best film actors do."
Late last year, it was reported that Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander were "casually dating."
"Michael and Alicia are casually dating, spending a lot of time together," a source revealed to E! News.
They will also play man and wife in the film, "The Light Between Oceans."
The synopsis from E! said, "Fassbender plays Tom Sherbourne, a lighthouse keeper who lives on an island in Australia with his wife Isabel, played by Vikander. The two, who have been trying to have a child for years, one day discover a boat that has washed up onshore. On board are a dead man and a living baby, who they raise as their own and name Lucy."
