After getting a huge payout of $15 million from the Los Angeles Lakers, as an offshoot of the Houston Rockets contract, last season, Jeremy Lin will get a pedestrian $2 million a year with the Charlotte Hornets.

And Linsanity has never been happier.

The 6-3 point guard was egging for a fresh start, and perhaps another Linsanity, after the failed experiment with Los Angeles Lakers and Byron Scott's Princeton offense, which takes away Jeremy Lin's strength-operating on the pick and roll.

In the introductory press conference from the Charlotte Hornets, Jeremy Lin took a subtle dig at the Los Angeles Lakers coach when he said, "Just having that open line of communication early and being proactive about it was very big for me."

The website 2 Paragraphs noted that Jeremy Lin is among the handful of veterans who took a huge pay cut to play with the teams they want.

Amar'e Stoudemire signed a one-year contract with Miami Heat on just $1.5 million after getting a huge payday of $100 million in the five-year contract that he signed in the summer of 2010.

"That puts him first on a list of big salary drops that includes his old teammate, Jeremy Lin. The big difference is that Lin is happy about his pay cut -- Lin probably bought playing time (and some peace) with it. Lin said Charlotte 'came out of nowhere' and he made his decision quickly. He's looking for the opportunity to excel, not break the bank," it said.

But Jeremy Lin also knows his responsibility to bring even a shadow of Linsanity to Charlotte Hornets.

He said, "I want to get back to what makes me what I am as a player, which is being aggressive, being on the attack and always charging toward the rim. I think that will help create easier shots for this team."
