The "Outlander" season 2 cast will miss out on Scotland but paddle upstream for the new season in France which is due to be released in 2016.
The reunion of Jamie Fraser and Claire Randall wasn't a pleasant one as expected but was rather traumatic with Fraser's rape incident unwrapped in the final episode of "Outlander" season one, reported IB Times. The new season would reportedly have the lead characters deal with their state of mind and emotions that revolve around Fraser's rape and Randall's pregnancy.
One of the main "Outlander" season 2 casts, Caitriona Balfe who played Randall said in the press briefing during 2015 San Diego Comic-Con International that "I think Claire has to put aside some of her own issues at the moment to help him [Fraser] get past what has happened and heal." Balfe also added that "part of that is giving him a mission. Giving him something to focus on that is not looking back on what had happened," shared Youth Health.
The "Outlander" season in France would portray Fraser as a charming businessman revealed Sam Heughan, an "Outlander" season two cast who plays Fraser, the lead of the series. He also added that the classy businessman role would be a mask worn by the character in public but would turn into his own self with his wife once he is back home.
"They are going through a very uncertain time," Balfe noted in the new season because the pastel hued life of Fraser and Randall in France would carry a darker shade inside. "They are struggling with their own issues. Maybe, privately, there is a bit of a gulf between them. But, ultimately, they are there for each other. They are working to try and help each other. Getting past adversity will make you stronger. I think that is the beautiful thing about this."
