The burglars stole stuffs worth £300,000 that includes Michibata's £250,000 engagement ring. Initially it was thought that the ring was stolen from Michibata's finger but later on it was found that the lady had removed the ring before she went to bed.
"Two men broke into the property whilst they all slept and stole a number of items of jewellery including, most upsettingly, Jessica's engagement ring," said Button's spokesperson. He added, "The police have indicated that this has become a growing problem in the region with perpetrators going so far as to gas their proposed victims through the air conditioning units before breaking in," according to The Mirror.
The Formula 1 racer's three other friends were also gassed when the robbery happened. They felt odd in the morning and were surprised to feel dizzy. However, when they saw that the house was turned upside down, Button and his friends realized that a robbery had taken place.
"The police believe there were two criminals working together on the operation," according to an unnamed source, reported The Mirror. "They were scouring the property for the days before the raid and looking at the times Jenson and the others were coming and going from the house.
What was particularly terrifying for Jenson was that there were a couple of nights where the guys stayed out later than usual and the girls stayed home alone, noted the source.
