Steven Sabados spoke about the death of Chris Hyndman for the first time. The CBC TV personality said that the spirit of his longtime partner and co-host of CBC 's "Steven and Chris" will endure, in an emotional tribute, as reported by CBC. Steven Sabados and Chris Hyndman were a popular pair on television.
Sabados stated on the "Steven and Chris" Facebook page, "I, our families and friends, wish to express our deepest gratitude for the overwhelming expressions of tenderness, love and tribute in honor of my beloved Christopher. Our hearts are broken, but we find comfort knowing his generous, larger-than-life spirit lives on."
Steven Sabados and Chris Hyndman met in Toronto in 1988. What encouraged the audience to flock to their show was a mix of humour and banter that was endearing.
"From the moment I met Christopher, we went forward in life, side by side and shoulder to shoulder," wrote Sabados, CBC reported. "He was my best friend, my confidant, my partner, my one love. Over 27 years, we built a beautiful life together; always remembered, always cherished. As we find our way through this difficult time, we are asking for privacy. Thank you for your understanding."
Hyndman, 49, was found without vital signs in a lane-way near their home in Toronto on Monday night. He was born in Ottawa and raised in Newfoundland. Many fans and colleagues of the famous television personality came to the Canadian Broadcasting Center in Toronto this week to leave messages of condolences and flowers at a memorial set up in the building's atrium.
There were dozens of screens projecting Hyndman's face and the words "in memory of" at the Broadcasting Center.
