At the recent D23 event in California, Square Enix confirmed that “Kingdom Hearts 3” will have a world based on the hit Disney movie “Big Hero 6.” The announcement came after it was revealed that the world of “Tangled” will also be part of the much awaited game.
"The themes in Big Hero 6 and Kingdom Hearts match very well. For instance there's friendship, really important to both stories, and then of course light over darkness," Walt Disney Animation Studios producer Roy Conli said in an announcement, via iDigital Times.
"The story will take place after the events of the film after Hiro and the gang have formed a heroic team. Not only will this allow us to explore all new adventures focused on great action, but we'll also get to see Baymax again."
The release date of "Kingdom Hearts 3," however, has yet to be confirmed. Although it was revealed that several developers are working on the project, they were still only able to establish the basic systems and mechanics for the game which could push its release date further.
"For the most part we've established the ground foundations, like the basic systems and mechanics of what's going to go in the game. Development of that is pretty much close to complete," game director Tetsuya Nomura told OPM UK, via PSU.
"But of course, since this is an HD title, it's now building the resources, and development of the 'mass' elements of it, like mass production of the areas and the actual things that are going into the game."
"Other elements, including the mini-games and other various smaller items; their progress is very varied...some of them are polished and very close to final state, but at the same time some elements are still in the planning phase and I haven't laid out the groundwork yet. But the basic structure of what's going to go in the game is set, it's now a matter of mass production of the different elements."
"Kingdom Hearts 3" is rumored to be available on Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC.
