Fans monitoring Nina Dobrev update may be well aware that she hasn't got much on her plate in terms of showbiz projects after her exit from "The Vampire Diaries."
Update news and rumors about Nina Dobrev these past few months have been mostly related to her ex-boyfriend, Ian Somerhalder and his now wife, Nikki Reed.
Even reports about her rumored relationship with Austin Stowell have been pegged on Ian Somerhalder's reaction and Nikki Reed's alleged jealousy.
Because of their history, it may indeed be hard for people especially for "The Vampire Diaries" fans not to associate Nina Dobrev with Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed.
Good thing the latest Nina Dobrev news update concerns how she could finally move on from the shadows of "The Vampire Diaries" and her former on-screen/off-screen romance. According to reports, the actress is purportedly targetting to star in a hit HBO series.
"One of the people who would love to get her hands on a role in 'True Detective' for season three is Nina Dobrev," a source reportedly told Hollywood Life.
"She has told her people to start talking to the right people and to get her into those meetings. She knows she has time since season two has just ended, but she wants to be first in line for when decisions are to be made."
This Nina Dobrev update purportedly impressed not only her fans, but her fellow actors and actresses as well.
"Everyone in Hollywood is clamoring for a role on two shows right now and those shows are True Detective and Empire," the source added.
After not having showbiz projects for quite some time, it seems that Nina Dobrev's time to shine has come once again. In fact, CW executives have expressed their desire to have her back on "The Vampire Diaries."
"We would have loved Nina to stay," CW president Mike Pedowitz said, as quoted by People. "She did a great job for the six years she was on the show. She is welcome back any time she wants to come back."
However, there are speculations that Nikki Reed would not be happy about the possibility of Ian Somerhalder's ex-girlfriend returning to co-star with him on "The Vampire Diaries."
In the same light, some also believe that Nina wouldn't want to go back to the show she just departed from earlier this year.
"It's highly unlikely Nina Dobrev would return to 'The Vampire Diaries' anytime soon," Celeb Dirty Laundry speculated. "Going back to the show would be admitting failure and returning to the drama of the never-ending love triangle with her ex-boyfriend, Ian Somerhalder and former friend, Nikki Reed."
