Tom Cruise has been one of the most popular faces of Scientology.
Some speculate that Scientology has purportedly been one of the main reasons why his marriage to Nicole Kidman, and later, Katie Holmes, crumbled.
The actor's belief in Scientology has also been surrounded by controversy, including rumors that sparked earlier this year about how the church has purportedly been controlling Tom Cruise through blackmail.
Despite all that he has endured for Scientology, is Tom Cruise ready to leave the church in order to save his relationship with Suri Cruise, his 9-year-old daughter with Katie Holmes?
According to a report, Tom Cruise has purportedly realized how Scientology has been taking its toll on his personal relationships during his latest visit to Suri Cruise.
"She was going on and on about her ballet class and how much she loves it," an insider reportedly told Star Magazine, as quoted by Hollywood Life. "That's when Tom realized he's never seen her perform ballet and he started to tear up.
"It hit him that she's growing up before his eyes and he's not there to witness most of it. They talk on the phone and video chat, but it's not the same."
Tom Cruise is purportedly distraught that his daughter is growing up so fast with only Katie Holmes on her side.
According to reports, it's not Katie Holmes who has been keeping Tom Cruise from being with Suri Cruise.
"Rumor has it that church leaders don't want Cruise seen publicly with his daughter because she's not being raised in the church," Celeb Dirty Laundry reported.
"Because Tom is in a leadership position, if he's seen flouting the rules, the Church of Scientology won't be able to as easily control their other followers/minions. So Tom has to either explain to daughter Suri why he can't be there or give the church the boot and stand by his kid."
These circumstances allegedly caused Tom Cruise to reconsider whether his devotion to Scientology is really all that worth it. There hasn't been any word about the Scientology church leaders' position on Tom Cruise's plan to leave the church.
