“Modern Family” star Sara Hyland said she fully supports Ariel Winter’s decision to undergo a breast reduction surgery. The actress, who plays Winter’s big sister in the ABC sitcom, said that she is very proud of her co-star.
"It's something we've been talking about for a long time. I'm super proud of her. I'm super happy for her," Hyland told E! Online.
The 24-year-old actress added that she felt Winter made the right decision. She shared that after her "Modern Family" co-star had the procedure, she felt and looked happier than ever.
"She's a tiny girl. We're practically the same size. I'm about a half of an inch or an inch taller than her and I can't imagine carrying that weight," she said.
"She's happy and most of all, she is healthy. She's glowing. As long as she's healthy and happy, that's all that matters to me. She's always been a very happy little girl-oh, God, I will still see her as an 11-year-old in my eyes. She's really like my little sister."
Ariel Winter has been very vocal about her recent breast reduction surgery. The actress said that she has grown tired of all the attention, adding that it also affected her health and professional life at some point.
"It started to hurt so bad that I couldn't take the pain. I really couldn't stand up straight for a long period of time," " she told Glamour.
"It started to hurt so bad that I couldn't take the pain. My neck was hurting so bad and I actually had some problems with my spine. I had been discussing my chest with doctors for many years, but when I finally said, 'I'm thinking of doing this,' he said, 'Your back is going to thank you so much.'"
Winter shared that she did not have second thoughts about the surgery. She said that this is what she has wanted to do for the longest time.
"I wasn't hesitant at all. I wasn't sad. I was really so thrilled about it and the idea of not being burdened with these any longer," she said.
